Latest Updates from Our Project:

2 More Stretch Goals + Another Freebie
over 3 years ago – Thu, Jan 14, 2021 at 07:59:32 AM

[ STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKS ]

Who doesn't like more stuff?!

We have unlocked 2 more stretch goals. The first is the Harmony Alliance Patrol, featuring 3 new minis (each with a different type of gear/kit), a few barriers and cone, a popup defense turret, and a road block checkpoint. The second is my personal favorite stretch goal in the whole campaign, the cyber doc. This guys is an implant chop-shop, and the doc mini is super creepy but awesome. He comes with a big set of scatter items ranging from an operating table, to bio matter disposal canister, drill, lighting,  upgrade display racks,  limb rack and much more.

[ FREEBIE ]

I added another freebie to the collection of stuff you can print right now - it's a simple floor airlock, to add a door that goes out to space (perfect for sucking unsuspecting baddies into the black vacuum). It's intentionally not fancy, as it prints thin enough to place/use minis on but looks great and can be scaled to a few sizes. It's in the freebies FOLDER or you can download HERE on thingiverse now.

Lots more stuff coming, including an awesome mini and a fun paint contest, which I hope to announce tomorrow. As usual, any help sharing and bringing attention to the project will help unlock more stretch goals and is always appreciated. Cheers!

FUNDED + Phase One Stretch Goals Unlocked!
over 3 years ago – Sat, Jan 09, 2021 at 09:15:43 AM

Happy Saturday folks! Sorry it took me a few days to get the first update done, but I've been crazy busy making more awesome scifi models. Welcome to any backers that are new to EC3D, and a hearty hello again to all previous EC3D supporters!

The project funded fully in < 3 hrs, which was awesome! I set the stretch goal cadence to every $2k, and each goal unlock should be a nice mix of stuff, a larger vehicle, etc. I broke them into phases, which the intent of only revealing the next phase (which gives me time to organize, plan, and change my mind last minute on stretch goals) but I decided to just post the first 3 phases now. I have enough content for 5 phases easily, but we'll see how the campaign goes - with Covid and the various other weird things happening in the world, I am not sure what kind of impact to expect on the campaign.

I did my best to put together a huge, diverse set of fun minis, scatter, and vehicles that can work across many scifi gaming systems.  As you can see I have most stretch goals planned, and most models made, but I'm always up for cool ideas so let me know if you have any.

On to the stretch goal unlocks - tons of stuff added, including a fuel tanker and  tanks to keep those hungry space ship thrusters burning, some various alien civs to fill out the world, some dock workers for the space port,  and some dancers, waitresses, and a lounge singer for your cantinas. I also added some various booths and a round performance stage. There's dancer platforms, and a modular system to make any kind of "catwalk" type stage. I also added some bathroom elements - because the can is never off limits during a shootout. Let me tell you, thinking about what future toilets might be light was an interesting mental exercise. Last but not least, a transport shuttle - with a single pilot chair, and 6 (removable) chairs for the back, so it can transport cargo or people.

One of the things that's kind of neat for the dancer platforms, I'm working on making an LED receptacle in the bottom - meaning you can print either of the 2 dancer models in translucent resin or FDM, put a light under the platform, and have a holographic dancer! Check out a rough proof of concept below with a blue light and blue resin:

That's it for now! If you haven't checked out all the free models, you should so so! 'll be releasing more free models soon and announce info on an awesome paint contest, so stay tuned. Cheers!
