Latest Updates from Our Project:

BackerKit + File Access **PLEASE READ**
about 5 years ago – Wed, Feb 17, 2021 at 02:09:31 PM

This is coming a few days later than I hoped, due to a delay with BackerKit importing info from Kickstarter, but here we are!  - I just released the BackerKit surveys and files! **PLEASE** take the time to watch the two quick videos below if you have any questions, or are new to my Kickstarters, as they explain how BackerKit and file access works.

BackerKit

You should all be receiving a survey access email, but if not you can also login and access here: https://novus-landing.backerkit.com . Inside the survey you will see your extra funds from KS pledge, can select or purchase additional add-ons, and access digital downloads & rewards (more on that below). Here's an overview video for how to use backerKit and purchase add-ons:

Accessing, Browsing, and Downloading Files

All digital content rewards are served through BackerKit, and provided as a Dropbox link (which I use  to host the files) and a custom password for each access. After completing your survey you will have access to these in BackerKit.  For all add-ons, the content is finished and you can download away, and each add-on and STL set has their own download password/link custom to you that you can see/access in BackerKit

Many of the items from this Kickstarter are finished and ready for your to print (about 65-70%). Though I carefully repair each item, inevitably some issues will be found that need repair in a few meshes. I recommend only downloading what you intend to print for now and wait until I give the green light that everything is done to download the full set. Dropbox allows you to download individual folders as ZIP files from the browsable web interface (which I cover in the video below). The always-up-to-date rewards spreadsheet is accessible here:  http://go.ec3d.design/novus-landing-reward-guide

PLEASE ALSO NOTE - The spreadsheet above is the source of truth for all file statuses, changes, etc. Some folders exist in the rewards that are empty and will have a preview (labelled 'WORK IN PROGRESS' in the image). That means that specific folder has not yet been delivered.

Watch this overview video to see how to manage/access digital downloads in BackerKit, how the spreadsheet works, and how to use the Dropbox links if you have any questions:

Reminder: The Ignis Quadrant - Novus Landing, #2

I also wanted to remind everybody of the LIVE CAMPAIGN happening now for the comic that takes places in the world of The Ignis Quadrant -  MANY of the character minis, scenery bits, etc from this Kickstarter are inspired by the comic (or vice versa). Many folks who weren't traditionally comic fans have said they loved it, and there's a free prequel edition you can read online right now to see what it's all about!

If you want to see EC3D create more sci-fi content, it's a great way to help support the cause. You can check it out HERE

The Ignis Quadrant Comic - Novus Landing #2 LIVE!
about 5 years ago – Tue, Feb 09, 2021 at 06:44:44 PM

Hi folks! I'm busy over here working on finalizing and organizing TONS of STLs for this project, to deliver to your print beds asap (most likely late this coming weekend, assuming Kickstarter releases funds at the 2 week mark, which they usually do!)

I mentioned this in the campaign, but I have been working on bringing the universe of The Ignis Quadrant to multiple mediums, including board games, graphic novels, and comic books. The second chapter of The Ignis Quadrant comic series just launched over on IndieGoGo. If you are a fan of sci-fi (which I assume you are, since you backed this campaign!) I encourage you to check it out. It's influenced by the likes of Firefly, Star Wars, Cowboy Bebop, and more, and is fun romp through outer space.

You can read the prequel issue #0 here for FREE digitally if you want, and you can get in on the Chapter #2 crowdfunding for as little as $4 for the digital version, with some awesome physical printed versions available too. You can also score the back issues from the first campaign as well.

Check out the comic campaign here:  https://igg.me/at/iq-comic-chapter-2

You'll recognize many characters from this STL project in the comic book, and if you want to see EC3D continue making more cool sci-fi stuff, I encourage you to check it out and support if you can. I'll be doing an update later this week on more of the STLS stuff as well. Cheers!

New Stretch Goal Unlock: The Scrap Slums
about 5 years ago – Fri, Feb 05, 2021 at 09:38:19 AM

Hello again you wonderful people! Another stretch goal unlocked as we head into the final 3 days. I'm excited to report that we have already unlocked MORE MINIS than were in my last Ignis Quadrant KS, and a ton of scatter. At this point the core rewards are at least doubled, so there's a heck of a lot of value for your pledge money, which was my primary goal.

The scrap slums include - as the name implies - space trash and scraps from around the quad. Included are 5 "hovels" made of various pieces of refuse/garbage, and some trash scatter (including a barrier with droid parts, busted bio canister, a dumpster with something tentacle-ey inside, a pile of scrap, and some busted letters from an old sign).  3 "slums kids" will help add some flavor to your cities, and 2 busted up old speeders round out the content. I hope you dig it!

Kickstarter Successful! Now what?
about 5 years ago – Wed, Feb 03, 2021 at 04:34:03 PM

Thank you all so much for an awesome, successful campaign! We unlocked tons of stretch goals and this campaign evolved into a huge set of STLs that I'm proud to share with you all!

I wanted to take a minute to outline next steps for those of you who have never participated in one of my Kickstarters before, and answer a few common questions. Here goes...

When Can I get the Files?

Kickstarter takes 2 weeks to collect payment from backers and hand it over to me. This is to account for failed card transactions and the like (which does happen). In that 2 week period I will be working to finalize/test/finish as many of the files as I can, and organize them in the final folder structure. Once Kickstarter releases the funding to me, I will make the files that are ready available to all backers. I'm estimating that at that time 60-75% of the included files will be finished and ready to print.

I always created a google doc that outlines all the files included, and their state of completion and when they were last updated. In my previous Kickstarters I have used Dropbox to deliver files and BackerKit as a pledge manager, but am exploring using MyMiniFactory this time around, so we'll see what I end up going with.

I pledged for add-ons, where do I choose which ones I want?

There will be a pledge manager (either BackerKit or MyMiniFactory.. to be determined) that you will use to choose your add-ons, which you will have access to shortly after the funding period. I'll be doing another update when the pledge manager is ready, including videos showing you how to choose add-ons, get the files, etc.

Feedback, Sharing, Etc

As part of all my campaigns, I setup a FB group for backers to share pics, ask questions, etc. I am a one-man operation so need to focus my time/energy, so apologies if you aren't a FB user but I only have time to manage a community on one social network. The FB group is the best place to ask about issues, share print photos, and more - but you can always message me on here or comment with feedback as well, or email me at [email protected]. I had previously created one for the Ignis Quadrant project, and plan to use that same group for this, and any future scifi STL projects - you can check it out HERE and I encourage you all to join!

What's next for EC3D?

At the moment we'er working on more issues of The Ignis Quadrant comic series and a short anthology comic in the Ignis Quadrant (which will both feature many characters, locations, ships and more from items in this project).

Launching soon will be a fantasy-themed kickstarter,  "Beasts and Baddies" with support-free minis for all kinds of common/reusable foes. Also in the works is another space-ship scale scifi KS (the follow on from The Terra Conflict)

Also in the works is a sprawling Steampunk STL project,  a few Community (Treasure)Chest projects (the ongoing charity series I created, with small themed STL sets) which will probably feature a scifi and a cyberpunk themed concept, and even a Board Game. 2021 is gonna be a busy year!

If you don't already, please follow EC3D on facebook and on Instagram to stay up to date!

New Stretch Goal: City Center + Final Freebie!
about 5 years ago – Mon, Feb 01, 2021 at 07:28:11 AM

Happy Saturday folks! I'm coming at ya with one final freebie for this campaign - a medium/large hangar door, designed to be used with DungeonSticks or just as a standalone item. Because big hangar doors are a halmark of scifi!

You can download it from Thingiverse HERE or in the freebies DropBox folder (linked to in the main campaign page). I hope you've all enjoyed the many freebies I made for this project - I love creating stuff for the community, and pretty proud of the stuff for this campaign.

Also here's some more stuff from the newly unlocked stretch goal, the City Center, featuring a guard bot, a few religious zealots (from the as-yet-unnamed religious order of crazies I'm working on for my Ignis Quadrant world),  some statue/fountain pieces for the fancier areas of the city, and a bit terminal advertising/alerts/etc notification screen for a big central square.
