Paint Contest Winners + 2nd Dynasty Collab

Results of the paint contest are in! I know the contest was relatively short, but there was a lot of moving parts in the KS and getting the contest together at all, and I was pleased with the diversity of the entries!

As a reminder, the judges were myself (Evan Carothers), Ryan Calhoun (the owner of Cephalopod Studios/Cuddlefish Colors) and Ben Mowbray (owner of 2nd Dynasty).

The winners will all be contacted shortly and the 2 first place winners will choose a cool model they want to add to everybody's pledges, so you'll be getting some extra models! All participants will be receiving a free model right away too, which will ALSO be included for KS backers when files are delivered.

This one speaks for itself - awesome OSL from the green goop,  great coloring and glow effects - this was the unanimous winner from all 3 judges.    

RUNNER UP

Runner up was a tougher choice, there were so many good options. In the end, we went with this beauty -  a nice clean but creepy scheme, and we loved the wet and fleshy look of it!

This was the unanimous winner in the scene category too. It features some of the free/minis scenery from the campaign so far,  with the lurker front and center.  We wished the photo resolution would have been a bit higher, but it was still too cool not to pick!

This was a fun and nostalgic scene, with a cool diner vibe - we all dug it, and the lurker seemed so out of place that it was hard not to ignore!

2nd Dynasty Collab: New Model Alert + Coupon

I've long been a fan of the awesome huge starships that Ben over at 2nd Dynasty creates - there's not a ton of scifi creators in the 3d tabletop space, and we both want to see the segment grow, and our models on tabletops everywhere!

To that end, Ben graciously agreed to a little cross-marketing collaboration between our companies.  EC3D created a cool new alien monster for the KS backers, which he is sharing with his customers also, to drive some awareness to the campaign. In return he's offering an amazing 30% off discount for his starships on his MyMiniFactory Store - he has some EPIC huge builds, and they are the perfect companion to the scifi stuff EC3D has created.

The coupon is NovusLandingShips , works for all ships/starfighters, and is live until Feb 28th.

This is the alien monster model created for the 2nd Dynasty collab,  which will be included for all backers,  shared with 2nd Dynasty customers, and shared early to paint contest participants. The scientific name of the creature is not know, but the locals on it's home planet Judira just call it "The Death Cat'. Known to stalk the outer fringes of the harsh landscapes, an encounter with this huge beast is as good as certain death!

We have a few days of the kickstarter - things have certainly been slower than I hoped/expected, due in part to limited in-person gaming and financial stresses on us all, but we have a few days left and I'm confident with the advertising endeavors I have planned we'll get at least a few more stretch goals unlocked! So please, do what you can to help share the project across any appropriate groups/feeds/etc, and let's keep the thrusters on max till the end. Cheers!

Stretch Goal - Bounty Hunters

Another unlock! This update will be quick, as I'm half asleep - this one focused mostly on minis, a crew of varied bounty hunters! 5 in total, including one mounted on the Uscon (pack/riding beast from core rewards). I also added (and released for free) some quick deploy barriers, which can be found HERE or in the freebies dropbox folder. 

Heading into the last week I expect to see a flurry of activity, and lots more unlocks!

Stretch Goal Unlock: Illicit Cargo

Yo folks, another stretch goal for ya!

This one includes a bunch more cargo items for your smuggling efforts, including pieces designed to transport all kinds of rare, dangerous, and expensive cargo. We also add a big cryo holding chamber - this was originally designed to hold the Hive Behemoth, but you can use it for any 2" or smaller based mini. There's also a version of it where something has forcefully ripped it's way out! Also added via this stretch goal is a safe for all your important stuff, a hover truck to transport your goods, and an industrial drone.

Also don't forget, the PAINT CONTEST is live now with some awesome rewards, early access to a model for all participants, a free model you can print now, and hundreds of dollars in prizes! Entries are accepted until midnight on Sun, and you don't have to be an awesome printer or painter to win, there's a category for "coolest scene" as well as "best looking".

New Stretch Goal : Hive Emergence

Another stretch goal!

This one is mini-focused, and brings us the emergence of "the hive" - thought long-extinct after an ancient war where all species/factions came together to eradicate them,  The Hive is a viral menace made from an ancient technology. The Hive tech infects any carbon-based creature it comes in contact with, replicated within and converting the creature into a drone soldier for the Hive, which feels and things as a single organism within proximity of others of it's kind. 

We have a newly-infected human male and female,  2 fully-infected hive soldiers, and a Hive Behemoth.

There's also a huge "hive lurker" I we will be releasing for free early this week, which will be the model used for the paint contest! The contest will give folks an opportunity to print a cool model right away and win some great prizes. Stay tuned for another update with that model release + contest details.
